Laura Rush is a Practice Nurse with a specialist interest in respiratory care. A large part of her clinical role in primary care involves the diagnosis and management of patients with respiratory conditions such as asthma and COPD.
Laura sits on the PCRS Education Committee and was a contributor to the PCRS Fit to Care document, which acts as guidance to the skills, knowledge and training required by healthcare professionals working with patients who have a respiratory condition. She has been a part of various steering committees, most recently for an acute asthma online resource aimed at practice nurses.
Laura’s passion for improving care for respiratory patients, including early diagnosis and appropriate management, prompted her to share her knowledge and enthusiasm through a role in teaching and training to motivate and inspire other healthcare professionals to deliver optimum care. She also has her own training business through which she has set up a local respiratory interest group in Somerset that meets at least four times a year. More recently, she has become a trainer for Education for Health.
