STAR programme

The STAR programme is a Socio-Technical Approach to Resource Allocation.

It is a tool that visualises a calculation of value for money for a given population for a given intervention. It helps commissioners and those planning services to allocate their health resources to benefit patients in their community.

Value is derived from a measure of the benefit per person times the number of people affected.
