2nd Atlas of Variation in risk factors and healthcare for respiratory disease
Posted on: 24 Oct 2019The Public Health England Atlas of Variation help to identify unwarranted variation and assesses the value of healthcare to populations as a whole and individuals. Since the publish of the first version sever years ago, this 2nd publication, continues to demonstrate significant inequalities in the distribution and treatment of common respiratory conditions.
It explains that there is still a significant variation in the quality of and outcomes experienced by people with respiratory disease in different parts of England. The variation can be seen as far as in the time it takes for a diagnosis, with a late or inaccurate diagnosis being a common occurrence, which consequently causes more frequent and expensive emergency hospital admissions.
