Nine steps to good asthma care

This article was originally published in Spring 2016.

Many of our primary care population have suspected or confirmed asthma. So how do we know if limited resources are being provided to those who need it most?

The Lambeth and Southwark Integrated Respiratory team, in conjunction with the London Respiratory Network, has developed a Good Asthma Pyramid. This uses the nine things measured in a good asthma review, to illustrate current care at a population level.

The article, reproduced with the permission of PCRS, looks at the tools developed nationally and locally for stratifying people with asthma. It also shows how you can create an asthma review pyramid for your own practice or locality using EMIS reporting.
