Asthma Right Care slide rulePosted on: 23 Apr 2019
The interactive version of the asthma slide rule is now live on the Primary Care Respiratory Society website. It has been designed to help prescribers initiate discussions with their peers and people with asthma about over reliance on short-acting beta agonists (SABAs).
The prescriber, could for example use the asthma slide rule to ask colleagues how much SABA they think would be acceptable for a person with asthma to take in a year, week or day, before a review is necessary.
Darush Attar-Zadeh, Lead of the Community Pharmacy Platform and PCRS Executive Committee member, says: “The aim of AsthmaRightCare is to do the right things, for the right person at the right time and in the right place. Clinicians are in a unique position to spot when AsthmaRightCare can turn into AsthmaWrongCare and this thought-provoking resource will assist us with communicating these messages to patients and colleagues.”
Hard copies of the ARC slide rule are freely available from AstraZeneca. Please contact either your local representative or the Medical Information Department to request copies (telephone 0800 7830033 or email [email protected] or complete this form).*
